KOLKATA & VARANASI PHOTO TOUR

Travel Portrait and Landscape Workshop

Kolkata (Calcutta) & Varanasi India Photography Tour
Travel Photography and lighting masterclass workshop and photo tour of Kolkata ( Calcutta ) and Varanasi India. Always wanted to go somewhere exotic to shoot but something holding you back? Well, fear not we can help with that.

Mastering travel photography can be truly challenging. As this multi-disciplined branch of photography is really a whole bunch of other styles all bundled together. Street photography, landscape, traditional portrait, social documentary, environmental portraiture, architectural and so on. So where do you start? This trip intends to tackle this task while having fun and taking on an adventure like no other. With its structured photo workshops peppered throughout tackling the main subjects, you will gain an understanding and confidence in your travel photography skills.

With two skilled instructors and small group numbers you will have plenty of instruction and help, should you require it. Taking you behind closed doors and off the beaten track away from the tourists. But still taking in some of the main landmarks this bespoke photo tour is like no other.

From the deco charm of busy Kolkata to the mystic majesty of the holy Ganges river in Varanasi and from the reminders of past glories of the British to the teeming markets and beyond. As always we will be keeping the groups small. With two instructors and no more than 6 guests giving you a 3 to 1 ratios.

Our magical India photo tour encompasses the some of very best that Northern India has to offer. You will not only come face to face with mystical holy men in Varanasi but also get to see the artisan potters of Kolkata close up and you will return home with some truly incredible memories and images.

We will visit the artisan potters in their workshops, brushing up our off camera flash knowledge.

In Kolkata, we will be exploring some of my favorite markets to make some truly outstanding images. Plus we will be hitting the pottery quarter where all the idols are made. Some other projects we work on might be the alleyways and life of the north and or the train stations.

On this photography workshop, you will also get a chance to get up close and personal with the Sadhu, the holy men of India as we make some incredible images. Working closely with them around and in the Ganges river in magical Varanasi.

The full subjects and details are yet to be finalized, but rest assured it will be an eye-opening action packed time. It’s not all hard work though as I have partnered with possibly the best hotel in the Kolkata and the downtime you experience will be first class.
